On May 31, 1969 she married Jack Lee Fitzwater at Wichita, KS. He was a graduate of Minneola High School and a lifetime area resident. Irene is preceded in death by her parents; a daughter Linda Scott; a brother Guy Crane; two sisters Ellen McPhail and Eula Mae Crane; and a grandson Dave Unruh. She retired as the Librarian and Dodge City High School. He graduated from Minneola High School in 1942 and shortly after went into the United States Air Force for 2 years during World War II. He was a brother to: Ida McCloskey Marian Legg, Maxine Pendergast and Vera Heiland. The family then moved to Ashland, KS.
